bird or blob?

October 6-7 was international migratory bird count weekend - at least in Europe, that is! Lots of bird movement around this time, so you never know what you're going to find. During a morning outing, I came across this thing in a field near Leefdaal.

Were the farmers playing tricks on me? or do you think it flew (or ran) away as i approached?

This is SO easy.

It's Big Foot, right?

(p.s. you can take the girl out of teaching, but not the teaching out of the girl!)

Well, so far if I guess something that actually exists, I will win. So here goes: How about a turkey? Wait, you don't even have turkeys over there, do you?

Stijn works with a few, but normally you only find turkeys on farms in Europe. They haven't been introduced here like Pheasant have been in N.A.

Last Thanksgiving we did eat the most delicious turkey - fresh, not frozen. It wasn't big (5 kg), but it was mighty tasty.

before i could confirm what it was, a tractor almost ran me off the farmroad (in my car of course, which wasn't technically supposed to be there), so your guess is as good as mine. Sorry to dissappoint you!

I did see a white phase Buteo buteo earlier that day, which was absolutely stunning. Sorta has a ghostly look about it.
